Ahmed & Co. offers a selected range of water-soluble food colours and lake colours for food, beverage, cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications. Our range includes recognised colour entities such as Tartrazine, Sunset Yellow, Ponceau 4R, Allura Red, Blue FCF, Amaranth and Carmoisine.
Food colours are additives used to enhance or restore the colour of food and beverages, making them more visually appealing and appetizing. They can be derived from natural sources, like plants and minerals, or created synthetically in a lab.
Water-soluble food colours are perfect for adding vibrant, colourful shades to all kinds of products. Water-soluble food colours dissolve readily in water-based formulations to provide uniform colour distribution. They are commonly used in beverages, syrups, confectionery, bakery products, creams and other suitable food applications.
Our available water-soluble colour range includes Tartrazine, Sunset Yellow, Ponceau 4R, Allura Red, Blue FCF, Amaranth, Carmoisine, Apple Green, Mango Yellow and Chocolate Brown.

Lake colours are water-insoluble pigments produced from colour dyes on an insoluble substrate. Their dispersibility makes them suitable for formulations where water-soluble colours may not be appropriate, including low-moisture, fat- or oil-based applications such as chocolate, coatings, bakery creams and dry mixes.
Ahmed & Co. also supplies lake colours including Lake Tartrazine, Lake Sunset Yellow, Lake Ponceau 4R, Lake Allura Red, Lake Blue FCF and Lake Apple Green. They may also be used in cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations, subject to the applicable product requirements and local regulations.
